Save Druridge, Northumberland
Save Druridge successfully defended the idyllic Northumbrian coastline and tourist destination ‘Druridge Bay’ from becoming a 3 million tonne opencast coal mine, known as ‘Highthorn’ proposed by Banks Group. In September 2020, the Secretary of State Robert Jenrick finally overturned the decision to mine 3 million tonnes of coal from Druridge Bay.
